This is a lot of two unusual and very desirable items originally from the collection of one of Neil Armstrong's personal friends from his college days. The first item is a 1969 Christmas Card (4.125" x 6.75" folded dimensions) together with hand-addressed envelope that has been hand signed "Neil Armstrong" in blue ink by Neil Armstrong (D 2012). The transmittal envelope is hand-addressed by Armstrong with his Seabrook, Texas address label and is postmarked December 17, 1969 from Seabrook. Of course, 1969 was a landmark year in Armstrong's life, having been the first man to walk on the moon in July, followed by a world tour. December found him at home remembering old friends with a signed Christmas card. This item is r and in fine condition. The autograph has been certified authentic by James Spence Authentication (JSA) and comes with a full letter of authenticity together with a matching tamper-proof sticker. The second item, from the same original source, is an original invitation to the wedding between Janet Shearon and "Mr. Neal [sic] Armstrong on Saturday the twenty-eighth day of January one thousand nine hundred and fifty-six in the Congregational Church Wilmette, Illinois." They had just met at Perdue where she was majoring in Home Economics and he in Aeronautical Engineering. The original transmittal envelopes included. We note the misspelling of Armstrong's name and the fact that the invitation was actually postmarked several days after the wedding.
